Plan your trip
to China.

Start with the right route.

The L category is for tourism. Your nationality, travel purpose and circumstances determine whether a visa is needed. UK residence does not make you a British passport holder. This preparation route uses London guidance; applicants elsewhere should use their local visa centre.

Start with your passport country and where you live. Add your travel dates and itinerary, then organise the evidence for your visit. Keep the trip and visa preparation in one plan.

Prepare around your circumstances.

Your circumstances shape your application. Use the official instructions for your route and place of application, then review the information you provide for consistency.
